Summer Camp
Georgia’s 4-H summer camping program, administered through the county offices of UGA Cooperative Extension, offers a 4-H camping experience unparalleled in the nation.

Over 8,000 children ages 9 and up, accompanied by over 1,000 adult and teen leaders, travel annually to Georgia’s unique 4-H centers for a week of camp that will be remembered and cherished for years to come. Each camp offers adventure, friendship, and fun, and all seek to develop the camper’s Head, Heart, Hands and Health to make him or her a better person.
Georgia’s 4-H centers — Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island, Fortson 4-H Center (Hampton, GA), Rock Eagle 4-H Center (Eatonton, GA) and Wahsega 4-H Center (Dahlonega, GA) — and Georgia 4-H at Camp Jekyll open their doors to campers looking for an exciting summer experience. Enthusiastic and well-trained camp counselors, University of Georgia Extension employees, and certified volunteers work together to provide campers with unforgettable memories to last a lifetime!
Please note that while the ages and grades given below for each camp may be used as a general guideline, you should check with your University of Georgia County Extension Office for their age or other eligibility requirements.
Cloverleaf Camp Opportunities for Grades 4-6
Each county is assigned to a 4–H center for a specific week of Cloverleaf Camp. Most students attending Cloverleaf Camp have completed the fifth or sixth grade; however, at their discretion counties may choose to allow campers who have completed the third or fourth grade to attend Cloverleaf Camp. ALL Cloverleaf campers must be 9 years old on or before their first day of camp. The table below lists where each county will attend Cloverleaf Camp (grades 4–6) and contains active links to your County Extension office with contact information to reach out to the 4–H professional about camp registration.
Middle School Opportunities for Grades 6-8
Georgia 4–H offers three different options for middle school camps.

- Marine Exploration Camp at Burton 4–H Center: Dive into coastal
discovery at Marine Exploration Camp, where campers experience
hands–on marine science through shark dissections, marsh ecology
classes, seining adventures, and more. The excitement continues with a
scenic trolley ride into Savannah and on a riverboat cruise, making this
an unforgettable journey into Georgia’s coastal ecosystems! - Wilderness Challenge Camp at Wahsega 4–H Center: Wilderness
Challenge Camp is the ultimate outdoor adventure where campers will
learn cool skills like cooking over a campfire, tying knots, setting up
tents, and learning first aid skills. With exciting activities like high ropes
courses and white–water rafting, campers build confidence, make new
friends, and have tons of fun in the great outdoors!
*Campers must be age 12 by camp time to go whitewater rafting! - Adventure Quest Camp at Fortson 4–H Center: Adventure Quest Camp is a thrilling journey where campers hop on buses to explore exciting destinations like the Georgia Aquarium, splash around at a water park, and eat dinner at Stone Mountain Park—complete with a drone show! Back at camp, the adventure continues with high ropes challenges, hands–on herpetology, and all the classic camp fun campers love. It’s the perfect mix of exploration, excitement, and outdoor discovery!

- Senior Camp at Georgia 4–H at Camp Jekyll: High school students are invited to experience an unforgettable beachside adventure packed with exciting activities and coastal exploration. This camp includes a full day at Summer Waves Water Park, complete with admission and lunch, offering the perfect mix of thrills and relaxation. Campers will also enjoy a hands–on trawl boat tour to learn about marine life, and a special outing to St. Simons Island featuring a delicious meal and time for shopping in the charming village. This week of camp will be held June 29th – July 3rd!
- Senior Camp at Wahsega 4–H Center: High school students are invited to join an unforgettable outdoor adventure camp packed with
excitement and exploration. Campers will experience the thrill of white–water rafting, soar through the trees on the flying squirrel and zipline, and conquer the climbing wall. They’ll dive into hands–on science through herpetology and stream ecology classes, gaining a deeper understanding of Georgia’s natural ecosystems. A special evening trip to Dahlonega offers time to relax, enjoy dinner with friends, and explore local shops. This week of camp will be held July 6th – 10th! - Senior eXtreme Camp at Rock Eagle 4–H Center: High school students are invited to eXtreme camp that is built for teens who crave adventure! Campers will conquer high ropes courses, master archery, go on a kayak trip and more. They’ll fish in quiet lakes, cook meals over open fires, and sleep under the stars in tents. This camp is offered two weeks, the week of June 1st – 5th and June 8th –12th!
- Senior Natural Resources Exploration Camp at Rock Eagle 4–H Center: High school students are invited to participate in this camp that aims to expose high school youth to various topics related to natural resources through hands–on learning opportunities led by UGA CAES and Warnell faculty and staff. This camp is done by application only. Youth interested in wildlife, fisheries, forestry, water, etc., are especially encouraged to apply to attend. This week of camp will be held July 6th – 10th! Applications are due April 15th.

Georgia 4-H summer camp registration is administered by the UGA Extension office in each county. For more information on camping opportunities or to register for camp, call your county’s Cooperative Extension office and ask for the 4-H agent or staff.
