The Georgia Collegiate 4-H Clubs are excited about the opportunity to work with your high school 4-H’ers and help them learn more about life as a college student.

WICC 2019 Recap

September 27th through the 29th, high school 4-H’ers joined together for the 2019 WICC Conference: “College is Out of this World.”  Each fall, this three day, two night event is held in the “Classic City” of Athens at the University of Georgia and exposes youth to higher education through engagement and experience. Students are separated into groups based on their grade level to provide information tailored to their current stage of life.  Throughout the weekend, participants heard from the Office of Financial Aid, Admissions, and the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Sunday morning, youth worked collectively to build a tetrahedral kite.  This activity encouraged them to reflect on the weekend and think about moving forward with their knowledge gained by keeping their goals in mind, investing in opportunities, talking to others, and enjoying experiences.  Weekend in the Classic City creates an opportunity to provide youth with broad and diverse seminars and speakers that show a comprehensive picture of education pathways throughout higher education in Georgia.
