Food Challenge is Chopped, 4-H style!
This contest challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using “mystery ingredients” along with a pantry of staples ingredients. Youth put their creativity and teamwork to the test as they plan and prepare their dish along with a presentation that shares nutritional value, safe food handling practices, and information about MyPlate.
The Georgia 4-H Food Challenge contest has two divisions: Junior (6-8 graders) and Senior (9-12 graders). Teams must consist of 2-4 members within the same age division. Counties compete in district qualifying contests in August with the state invitation contest being held at Rock Eagle in September.
