Mr. Harold Darden, Georgia Associate State 4-H Leader Emeritus, passed away September 18, 2018, at the age of 98.

Congratulations to the Hart County Senior Forestry Judging Team who placed first in the State Forestry Field Day at Earl and Wanda Barrs’ Gully Branch Tree Farm in Cochran, GA on Saturday, September 22.

110 Georgia 4-Hers celebrated 4-H Day at the University of Georgia football victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday, September 15th at Sanford Stadium. The 4-H emblem was proudly displayed as a symbol of the affiliation with UGA and a celebration of over 170,000 youth that participate in Georgia 4-H across the state.

The Georgia 4-H Food Showcase was on Saturday, Sept 8, 2018 at Rock Eagle and included the Chicken Barbeque Contest, the Turkey Barbeque Contest, the Egg Preparation Demonstration Contest, and the Food Challenge Contest.

Congratulations to the Coweta County Senior Land Judging Team who placed first in the State Land Judging Contest on Saturday, August 25.

Burke County 4-H Forestry Judging Team represents GA in National 4-H Forestry Invitational

Georgia 4-H and the Georgia Watermelon Association is pleased to announce the winners of our annual Watermelon Growing Contest! Congratulations to John Gorton of Sumter county, for growing our winning watermelon, which weighed 168.6lbs! Our second and third place watermelons were grown by JT Clarke of Meriwether county, and Jordan Smothers of Walton county. These watermelons weighed 122lbs and 115.2lbs respectively.
