Mandy Marable
Mandy Burgess Marable serves as the Associate State 4-H Leader. In this role, she provides guidance to Georgia 4-H programming and the State 4-H faculty and staff that facilitate statewide programming.
Beginning her lifelong 4-H journey in her hometown of Washington, Georgia, Mandy was actively involved as a Wilkes County 4-H’er and received the outstanding senior 4-H’er award accompanied by the Mitchell Willingham scholarship. Mandy went on to serve four summers in the Georgia 4-H camping program with two summers in leadership positions.
Mandy holds a Master’s in Interrelated Education from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University, graduating cum laude. She started her career as a special education coordinator and teacher at Holsenbeck Elementary School in Barrow County, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2000.
Joining the State 4-H faculty in 2002 as Extension Specialist for Curriculum and Staff Development, Mandy supported County Extension Agents by developing curricula, coordinating training, and strengthening partnerships with Georgia’s school systems. Her work allowed her to achieve the rank of Senior Public Service Associate and in 2019 she received the Walter B. Hill Award. She is past president of Georgia’s Alpha Beta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi and a graduate of Extension Academy for Professional Excellence, the Vivian Fisher Public Service and Outreach Leadership Academy, and Leadership Georgia.
Actively involved in her community, Mandy has served numerous community organizations and is currently serving as a member of the Oconee County Library Board. She and her family are members of Antioch Christian Church.
Mandy is married to Brent Marable, and they reside in Watkinsville with their two sons.
