Christina Garner
Christina Garner serves as the Extension 4-H Specialist for Health and Wellness for Georgia 4-H and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension.
Dr. Garner is a “Triple Dawg” as she received her Doctoral, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Her doctoral studies focused on improving health-related resources and building communities in rural southwest Georgia. Garner’s research efforts continue to involve resource development to
improve the health and wellness of others.
She began her career with UGA Extension in 2016 as the Southwest District AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) member. In 2017, Christina transitioned to Northeast District as the 4-H, Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent, and County Extension Coordinator in Pickens County. Garner returned to Southwest District in 2020 as the Stewart County Family
and Consumer Sciences Agent and County Extension Coordinator. In this role, she worked with both youth and adult audiences to address chronic disease, literacy, and improve access to healthier foods and physical activity in rural Southwest Georgia
