The Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championship rotates across the 13-state southern region, which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Educational Opportunities

(Must be recognized at the Georgia 4-H State Horse Show as a qualifier)

Hippology

Allows an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H to demonstrate the breadth of their knowledge and understanding of equine science and management, and in particular, the practical application of this knowledge and skill.

Quiz Bowl

Allows an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H horse projects to demonstrate their knowledge of equine-related subject matter in a competitive setting, where attitudes of friendliness and fairness prevail.

Judging

Allows an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of judging conformation and performance classes of a variety of breeds and disciplines.

Public Speaking

Allows youth enrolled in 4-H to utilize their knowledge and understanding of a specific equine-related topic, and present that topic verbally without the assistance of visual aides.

Individual Demonstration

Provides an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a specific equine-related topic, and present that topic individually to an audience.

Team Demonstration

Provides an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a specific equine-related topic, and present that topic with a partner to an audience.
