Coastal Georgia 4-H Military Adventure Camp



The Coastal Georgia 4-H Military Adventure Camp is a weekend camp for youth with a parent currently serving in the military, with priority being given to Air Force families. Hosted at UGA Marine Extension on Skidaway Island (near Savannah, Georgia), participants will have the opportunity to learn about marine creatures, tour the aquarium and touch tanks, hike through the maritime forests, complete a dolphin study, stargaze, and more! Due to UGA Marine Extension requirements, youth must be in grades 5-8 for the 2020-2021 school year.

The camp begins with check in on Friday, 19 February 2021 from 7:00-7:30PM. Campers should eat dinner before they arrive. A light evening snack will be provided. All meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday will be provided. Lodging will be hotel-style dorm rooms with 2 bunk beds per room. Males and females will be housed separately. Pick up will be on Sunday, 21 February 2021 from 9:00-9:30 AM.

Application Process

Due to the facilities, participation will be limited. The online application system will currently open.  You will receive notification no later than 5 January 2021 if you have been selected to participate.  All other youth will be placed on a waiting list.  All correspondence will be via e-mail provided in the application.

Camp Costs

Once you receive notification that you have been selected as a camper, you will have to pay a $20 acceptance fee (via check) in order to hold your spot by 1 February 2021. All other costs (activities, food, lodging, insurance, etc.) are included. Parents will be responsible for getting their camper(s) to/from UGA Marine Extension on Skidaway Island. Transportation costs are not included.


To be eligible to attend the Coastal Georgia 4-H Military Adventure Camp, you must:

  • Have a parent currently serving or retired from the military. Priority goes to youth with a parent serving in the Air Force, Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserve.
  • Be enrolled in grades 5-8 for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Attest that all information is truthful and accurate.
  • Pay the $20 acceptance fee by 1 February 2021.
  • Complete and return all necessary paperwork (Code of Conduct, Medical Information, etc.) by 1 February 2021.
