FROM: Jenny Jordan, Extension 4-H Specialist RE: Southern Region

Registration Due August 10 | ![]() |
Southern Region Leader Forum continues to be one of the South’s best kept secrets. The Forum provides volunteers and paid staff members the opportunity to participate in classes, clinics and workshops on all sorts of topics.
In addition to lively entertainment and an incredible speaker, leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshop and funshop sessions. These sessions are led by volunteers and Extension faculty and include a plethora of information. Few trainings offer the variety and quality of Southern Region 4-H Volunteer Leader Forum.
Participation in the Forum is open to any volunteer or paid staff member. Part-time registration as well as full-time registration is available.
Registration may be turned in on an individual or county basis. Registration is due to me no later than August 10 Registration includes the county print out from online registration OR the individual registration flyer. Registrations added online after August 10th and deposits postmarked after August 10 will need to pay an additional $50 Late registration will be accepted if space is available. Counties have the option of entering their participants online or having the individual send in the registration. Online registration will be considered "early bird" and not assessed a late fee if it is entered prior to August 10th AND the payment is postmarked August 10th. For individual registration to be considered early bird, it must be postmarked August 10th.
A deposit of 50% is due with registration. If prior arrangements are not made, deposits received after August 10 will also be charged the late fee. Full refunds will be available for those participants who cancel before September 1. After that date, we will be able to refund fees based on the charges made to our state from the Forum.
Final payment is due September 20th. If the final payment is not received by the 20th and prior arrangements have not been made, again, the late fees will be charged. This is an effort to have a more accurate attendance and participation list and to be able to reserve cabin space.
As participants register, a note with more details will be sent. I’d also encourage you and your delegates to check out the frequently asked questions(click here) for more information. If you like, there is also a letter to volunteers encouraging their participation. You may adapt this for your county's use or use as is in recruiting leaders (click here)
Southern Region Leader Forum is filled with fantastic opportunities. Don’t do a disservice to our leaders by not promoting this program to them. You may want to offer partial scholarships to leaders in exchange for a commitment to coordinate a specific program. I’d also encourage you to consider making time in your schedule to come with your leaders to experience the event.
Please let me know if you
have any additional questions or concerns. I’m looking forward to
working another fantastic Georgia Leader Forum delegation!
