      Recogntion

      Eligibility

      • any volunteer who donated time or resources during the past year
      Awards
      • One winner per district will receive a plaque
      • The state winner will be selected from the district winners. The region with the district winner will then recognize the second placing applicant as their district winner. The state winner will receive a scholarships to attend the 2007 Southern Region Leader Forum in October
      • Awards will be presented Tuesday afternoon at the Opening Assembly (2 p.m.) at State 4-H Congress in Atlanta. Travel expenses will NOT be paid.  It is the county's responsibility to notify the volunteer of the award.
      Application Process
      • Applicants should submit:
        • INFORMATIONAL HIGHLIGHT SHEET  with:
          • Leader's name as it will appear on the award
          • Complete mailing address, phone number and email if applicable
          • Number of years of service as a volunteer
          • One paragraph describing the leader's significant acccomplishments
        • No more than two letters of reference. Letters of reference should document the leader's commitment to the 4-H program, his/her service as a leader, and the specific role played. One letter may be from a county Extension agent, coordinator and/or program assistant and the other letter should be from a person who the leader has worked with. Letters are not considered for their grammatical correctness but rather the impact the leader has had on the individual writing as well as the 4-H program.
      • Letters may be attached to the INFORMATIONAL HIGHLIGHT SHEET  or sent directly to Volunteer Recognition Selection Committee at the address below. 
      • Applications are due July 11th to Volunteer Recognition, 309 Hoke Smith Annex-UGA, Athens, Ga 30602
