Continuing to prepare the next generation of STEM leaders, Georgia 4-H has seven teams participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) during the 2011-12 school year. After a long season of design-work, building, marketing, fund-raising, and teamwork, the teams efforts culminated in the Peachtree Regional Contest March 15-17.

The Georgia 4-H Council elected the 2011-2012 Georgia 4-H Board of Directors during State 4-H Council, June 24-26 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. The newly elected officers have completed training and will be installed during the annual banquet of State 4-H Congress. This year's officers include Dowdy White, President, Crisp County; Juawn Jackson, Vice President, Bibb County; Hugh Slaton, State Representative, Lee County; Jordan DeWitt, State Representative, Ware County; Kevin Morris, State Representative, Chatham County; Tess Hammock, Northeast Representative, Monroe County; Erin Burnett, Southwest Representative, Mitchell County; Terrance Gibson, Southeast Representative, Appling County; and Matthew Pace, Northwest Representative, Chattooga County.
