Georgia 4-H is supported by two AmeriCorps grants - Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) and AmeriCorps State.  VISTA was founded in 1965  as a national service program designed to fight poverty in America. The AmeriCorps State program, founded in 1993,  supports a wide range of local service programs that address critical community needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. Both programs are a part of the Corporation for  National and Community Service. Funding for the State program is administered by the Georgia Commission on Service and Volunteerism. For more information on the impact that AmeriCorps members have had with Georgia 4-H, see our 2016-17 Georgia 4-H AmeriCorps Impact Summary

April 3, 2018 was National Service Recognition Day for AmeriCorps Members across the Country! Since 2010 Georgia 4-H has been supported by the service of around 184 AmeriCorps Members! View the video below to see just a few of our VISTA and State AmeriCorps Members and learn why they do what they do.

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to Georgia 4-H, you have made the difference in the lives of so many youth, volunteers, and staff members!
