Georgia 4-H is supported by an AmeriCorps State grant. This grant is funded by the federal agency known as AmeriCorps (formerly referred to as the Corporation for National and Community Service) and is administered at the state level by Georgia Serves (also known as the Georgia Commission on Service and Volunteerism). Georgia Serves is housed within the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. AmeriCorps State members serve in local county Extension offices throughout Georgia, delivering a variety of 4-H programming to youth in grades 4-12, with an emphasis on in-school educational club meetings and 4-H Project Achievement.
